THE MIKE
MCSWEENEY AWARD
This
scholarship honors Mike McSweeney who was a member of the 1994 Freshman
baseball team. The RFA Dugout Club has established a yearly scholarship to the
LeMoyne College Baseball Camp in the name of Mike McSweeney. Each year a member of the RFA’s ninth grade
baseball team will be selected to attend the annual camp free of charge.

BILL VINCY SCHOLARSHIP AWARD
Bill’s love for the game
of baseball will always be remembered. It is because of his love that the Bill
Vinci Award was established in 1991.
The Bill Vinci Award is given to the senior
baseball player who has demonstrated baseball ability, team dedication and a
true love for the game of baseball.
The Bill Vinci Scholarship Fund was established
after an unfortunate automobile accident took Bill’s life on March 29,1991.
The first scholarship award was presented at the
annual RFA Baseball Banquet on June 9, 1991 to Ryan Hickey. Each recipient’s
name is engraved on a plaque displayed at R.F.A. which was donated by Bill’s
fellow Dugout Club members.
A committee has been established to select the
graduating senior who best portrays these qualities on the completion of the
season and who is planning to go to college to play baseball.
